express lanes leaving the prince william parkway. westbound i-70 at 94 and woodbine we have reports of the tractor-trailer possibly overturned. i-70 at 94 shut down until further notice because of this crash. southbound 270 busy on the top side. we have delays approaching and passing 109. no incidents to report leaving germantown to the split. that's a check of your fox 5 on-time traffic. new this morning, we're taking a look at live pictures right now from a d.c. neighborhood where one woman has been kicked out of her home and is now desperate it save her belongings that you can see out there that are all scattered around the street over four different blocks. eloisa diaz tells fox 5 she was evicted after losing her job. she says councilmember jim graham brought two trucks by last night and helped hallway

some of the most valuable items out there. we'll have the latest on that in our next half hour. now to some of another top stories we're following today as police are searching for a suspect in the murder of a woman in greenbelt, maryland. she was found dead in an apartment complex on greenbelt road. investigators aren't saying how she died but calls about gunshots did come into 911 just before her body was found. police don't have a suspect or motive at this point. in manassas, police have a 15- year-old in custody after a brutal stabbing at a shopping center. they say to teenages beat an stabbed a photographer who was trying to take pictures of the canterbury village shopping center for the center's owner. people showing up at the mall started blowing their horns and that is when the suspects ran off. the "washington post" is reporting kerry briggs resigned via e-mail last week with just 4 hours notice. school board is said to be stunned by her discussion to

leave on such short notice. brig was appointed by mayor fenty. she says she inform the mayor of had he ever plans in mid- august. a new twist now in the ongoing d.c. parks contracts controversy. mayor fenty's practice sternt brother omar karim was order to testify by a d.c. superior court judge. he is the president of badgerer ventures, the company that allegedly got million of dollars to manage parks and recreation creanter contracts. >> one of those was liberty law with we know great sums of money went into the perceived contractors and thnt went out to other firms. we wanted to find out what the expenditures were. >> he has never disagreed with talking about the parks contract. the investigation wanted to get into a host of other business interests of his that did not

hagerstown is at # 4 degrees. off it our east, we have a couple of 70s there. 70 in stevensville. -- hagerstown is at 64 degrees. we have some winds aross the area. these winds are coming to us out of the south. southerly breezes will be bringing that warmer air into our area. it has been warm to our south and west and now we get the pushing high pressure out and moving into our region. take a look at the satellite- radar. this will be of interest as well. mostly sunny skies this morning. you've got clear skies. awe few high clouds up to the north and out to the west. us for, we're pretty much cloud- tree and we will be until hat are today and one the frontal boundary gets closer, it could bring with it some showers and thunderstorms. there is a possible that some of you will see a couple of showers and thunderstorms late today and then during the

evening hours as well. forecast for washington for today looks like this. mostly sunny, hot an humid, late day shower or thunderstorm possible. hook for -- look for a high of 90 degrees. more heat and humidity and for friday, highs into the low 90s. we start to cool off saturday. temperatures in the 80s. could be a shower late on saturday. that is a possibility and then another chance of some showers on sunday with a high on sunday in the mid-70s which is going to lead us into a week next week where we'll see dramatically cooler temperatures certainly as a possibility. that is a look at what is happening with the weather. now, let's get to julie wright and get an update on traffic. >> it is getting business you on the there on the highway especially up in howard county. that is where we'll find the crew in sky fox. accident activity involving an overturned tractor-trailer. that had the roadway blocked along westbound i-70. now, it appears that we do have some traffic squeezing by to the left as you guys travel westbound.

we don't have it. they are word wrid about unemployment. they are concerned about that. -- they are worried about unemployment. this trying to prevent deflation. this is worrying investors worldwide. this indicates they are word wrid about global economic recovery and u.s. economic recovery. >> now, another thing that could be a concern too, we're talking about holiday spending. yes, i cannot believe it. predicts will be coming out soon and they don't necessarily look so great, do they? >> no, deloitte came out yesterday that we would see sales go up 2%. i gaffe a call over to the national retail federation. you can see the numbers right there. they will come out with numbers possibly next week. in 2007, we are at 452 billion. we have fallen almost 0 billion off of that. we still have a long way to go to recover from all of this.
